ANTHRAX - For All Kings (26 Février)

ANTHRAX, along with producer Jay Ruston, is currently in a Los Angeles studio recording the follow-up to the band's 2011 Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed album "Worship Music". The group — Charlie Benante (drums), Frank Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), Scott Ian (guitar) and new axeman Jon Donais (formerly of SHADWOS FALL) — has been writing and demoing new songs over the past few months and plans to continue recording for the next several weeks. The band's as-yet-untitled eleventh full-length effort is tentatively due this summer via Megaforce.

He continued: "We have 18 songs we're working with that made the cut. We're going to try to record everything just to see what turns out the best.


Benante stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for ANTHRAX's next studio album:"Some of the new music that's been coming out for us has been so inspiring. It's, like, I remember telling Scott, we had about 12 songs [in various stages of completion], and I told him, I said, 'Dude, now the good stuff's coming out of me.' And he's, like, 'Really? But these 12 are awesome.' I said, 'Nah, dude. Wait until you hear the next batch.'"

He continued: "I write most of the music in the band; the ideas pretty much come from me, musically speaking. But I don't like to… For me, I like everybody to have their input and their say-so. I'll bring in a song and usually me, Scott and Frank [Bello, bass] will play the song and make a change here or there. Or sometimes when Scott gets a riff, he'll kind of modify it a little bit to his own ability, and it just takes shape from there. But for the most part, I just have all these ideas."

Benante added: "For this new album, I've been lucky enough to draw from the 'Worship Music' experience and really build on that. So these newer tunes are just… Man, if that record was, like… How can I put this? If that was like 'Led Zeppelin IV', then this one is definitely gonna be like 'Physical Graffiti'. The reason why I said that is because have such an abundance of songs. 'Physical Graffiti' was a double record. We have enough material to have a double record at this point too."

vivement le HF et du coup l'album !

Oui Anthrax en concert, ça claque.
Je regrette juste de ne jamais les avoir vus avec John Bush.

Mouais, c'est aussi le moins productif (bon, Metallica est hors-catégorie).

Sérieux, même si le dernier album est sympa, de là à hurler au retour en grâce faut pas déconner non plus.

Après c'est cool que Belladona soit toujours dans le groupe.

ils n'ont pas fait de tournée en Europe en tête d'affiche depuis un bail (d'ailleurs je me demande même justement s'ils ont fait une tournée de ce type en Europe depuis le retour de la Bella).
Bon c'est sur Megamort pond un oeuf tous les deux ans...Metlolica ..et Slayer hummm humm...
Anthrax reste par contre celui qui sort le plus de Best Of et de live / vidéo.  
il y a quand même un écart "commercial" entre les trois mammouths et le pustule.
Je ne dis pas que Charlie et Scott Ian doivent être pauvres mais sortir du matos régulièrement et tourner sans cesse semble être le seul moyen de rester "vivant" dans le système quand les autres se contentent de "mettre le nom au début de l'article" pour susciter un intérêt.

Il m'arrive parfois (oui oui je vous jure) d'attendre plus le nouveau matos de Slayer que de Metallica même si je les mets au final dans le même panier. (impatience, interêt , début d'excitation mais n'attends rien de particulier) mais quand je fais lecture de cette news avec ces petits riffs et finalement toute la vidéo ; plus l'approche et la façon dont est sorti workship....et bien là OUI JE SUIS IMPATIENT COMME UN GOSSE.

The official lyric video for "Evil Twin", the first new song from ANTHRAX's long-awaited album, set for a first quarter 2016 worldwide release (Megaforce in North America, Nuclear Blast in Europe), can be streamed below. The clip is a compelling barrage of places, victims, actions, and some of the infamous zealots and others who have perpetrated violent extremism on innocents around the world, aptly exemplifying the song's powerful message.

"Evil Twin" is now available digitally, and can be purchased via Apple Music, iTunes and Amazon.

Musically, "Evil Twin" is a full-on thrash-metal tune that blasts off with a raging guitar riff, accelerates expeditiously and is completely uncontrollable.

"Yeah, that opening riff is really evil," laughed the band's Charlie Benante. "We had done a lot of touring with DEATH ANGEL and EXODUS, so I was in a really thrashy state of mind when I starting writing the riffs for that song. I think along with Scott's lyrics and Frank's melodies, we came up with a really great, old-school thrash metal feel."

As ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello put it, "it's a song that begs to be played live."

Lyrically, the track unapologetically denounces the self-righteous religious extremists who spread their bloody terror under the guise of a Holy War.

"I was very affected by the Charlie Hebdo massacre as I have been with all of the shootings that have taken place at schools and movie theatres," said ANTHRAX's lyricist Scott Ian. "I can't figure out what would cause someone to think that was the right thing to do. 'I'll show the world, I'll make my God happy.' It's just such bullshit. I'm not bagging on religion, that's not my intent, but people who go to that extreme, who feel they have become judge, jury and executioner over their fellow man because you or I don't believe the same thing they do, I think that's the 'Evil Twin' of humanity. Writing words about that is my only catharsis."

Beginning in the fall of 2014, ANTHRAX — Benante (drums), Ian (rhythm guitar), Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and lead guitarist Jon Donais — took their time in the studio recording the follow up to their Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed 2011 album, "Worship Music". The band recorded some 20 original songs, almost twice as many as they had ever brought into the studio in the past. In terms of how the new music sounds, Bello said, "The thing about ANTHRAX...we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey's powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but I also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like ANTHRAX. I think we've done a really good job of that on the new album."

ANTHRAX is set to join their fellow "Big Four" comrades SLAYER on a seven-week European tour that kicks off this Sunday, October 25.

Ouais, les mecs d'Anthrax sont de gros gros fans de comics.

Après, je trouve pas la pochette magnifique mais bon...

Pareil, je la trouve assez moyenne.

Moi je la trouve cool!

J'ai vécu 24 ans pour en arriver là.



Je trouve la pochette moche, comme souvent ici quand je poste à propos d'une pochette, haha.

J'ai hâte ....un nouvel album pas repris de vieux trucs ré enregistré à la Workship qui pourtant n'était pas trop mal du tout.
Du Anthrax tout simplement ça suffira à mon bonheur.

Et bien voilà....Un album de Anthrax qui fait du Anthrax avec même quelques passages biens fichus  ("For all kings" ou "Zero Tolerance") et parfois même pas thrash , juste metawl Us.
Les titres sont assez longs mais bon ça roulotte pas mal du tout.

De quoi assurer une nouvelle tournée mondiale en opener (on peut rêver , en headliner)... Si je dois le comparer à Workship je le trouve meilleur (compos notamment).  Je vais voir les prochaines semaines si j'ai envie de l'écouter...

Ce serait pourtant pas mal de le défendre en tête d'affiche celui là....

Je ne le trouve franchement pas mauvais mais franchement pas génial....il faudrait que j'écoute le Megadeth. Comme ça je pourrais comparer les dernières sorties du big three en attendant la sortie de l'album des vrais patrons.

J'ai failli acheter l'album ce matin, j'attends de l'écouter un peu plus avant.

Parle pour toi dude ! J'adore les derniers Accept et Megadeth, et même le Slayer je le trouve largement meilleur que le précédent !

Merci foule fête a écrit: À ce stade, les espoirs les plus fous jaillissent et s'entremêlent en une farandole joyeuse et trépidante façon banc de touche italien dans la minute précédant la fin du temps réglementaire lors de la finale de l'Euro 2000 de football. Les amateurs du sport numéro un au Honduras ont déjà deviné la suite.

Pour parler un peu de l'album lui même, je te rejoins totalement. Qu'est-ce que c'est long ! Qu'est-ce que c'est chiant ! Quelle déception après le très bon Worship Music...

Oui, tu as raison pour Accept ( je savais qu'au moins DS avait aimé ), je suis plus surpris pour Slayer et Megadeth mais je vais modifier la phrase. Merci pour le retour.

Le SLAYER aussi je le trouve pas mal (enfin par rapport aux précédents). Le MEGADETH est pas dégueux mais me semble bien surestimé.

Quant à ce ANTHRAX, il ne m'a pas paru moins bon que le précédent.
