PRETTY MAIDS - Undress Your Madness (8 novembre 2019)

Danish hard rock veterans PRETTY MAIDS will release their new album, "Undress Your Madness", on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl.
The track listing for the effort is as follows:

PRETTY MAIDS' latest album, "Kingmaker", was released in November 2016 via Frontiers Music Srl.
PRETTY MAIDS frontman Ronnie Atkins told Kansai Finder about "Kingmaker": "'Kingmaker' was actually more or less written just prior to going in the studio. The thing is that you write more or less all the time and record bits and pieces that you might use at some later point. We also had some ideas that we've done in either 2014 or 2015 that ended up on 'Kingmaker'. But the majority of the album was written in January 2016 and we entered the studio on February 1, 2016."
PRETTY MAIDS guitarist Ken Hammer told The Rockpit that the band employed a tried-and-tested songwriting approach on "Kingmaker". "Our intention with this album was not any different from any other album that we have done," he said. "This is our last album on Frontiers, and, as always, we are trying to do our best every time. We always first of all write songs that we like ourselves. [2014's] 'Louder Than Ever' [a collection of new songs and re-recorded tracks from the band's past albums] was in our opinion an 'in-between' album and we wanted all our new fans to hear some of the stuff that we did in the 1990-2000s with a more up-to-date sound."
Atkins also said that there were no plans for PRETTY MAIDS to retire any time soon. "I definitely don't see any stop signs yet," he told Kansai Finder. "We're still having fun and enjoying what we do. As long as we have a fan base that still wants to buy our music or come to the shows, then it's all worth it. The fan base has been increasing the last couple of years; a lot of younger fans have checked in, which tells me that we must somehow still be kind of relevant in what we do and that's a nice feeling."

Moi aussi. J'ai envie de croire à un retour du côté sombre de Pretty Maids, les albums guimauve ça commence à bien faire.

Pandemonium, il était bien. Motherland qui a suivi était mou comme une chique. Après je me souviens avoir trouvé ça assez générique, et les titres récents que j'avais entendus au Hellfest ne m'avaient vraiment pas transcendé. J'attends mieux.

PRETTY MAIDS singer Ronnie Atkins has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Danish musician broke the news of his diagnosis earlier today via the band's Facebook page.
He wrote in an open letter to the PRETTY MAIDS fans: "It's scary how your world can be turned upside down in a couple of weeks.
"I went to my doctor for a routine check complaining about some back pains in mid-August. I then went through numerous scans, bronchoscopy, biopsies etc. and spent a lot of time waiting for answers in uncertainty. And so finally three weeks ago I found myself diagnosed with lung cancer.
"Now this has by all means been a shock to me, my family and those close to me since it came totally unexpected without any typical symptoms and everything just happened and developed so fast lately.
"I'm already in treatment and underwent surgery two weeks ago, then spend some 10 days in hospital with pneumonia as a consequence apparently linked to the surgery.
"According to the medical staff my prospects are good considering it's lung cancer. However, I will have to undertake further treatment the next couple of months to be on the safe side. This means that I unfortunately will have to step back from most musical activities concerts etc. for an indefinite period of time.
"I'm going into this with a positive mindset and with the continuing love and support from my family and friends I'm determined to battle this disease the best I can -God willing!"
According to PRETTY MAIDS, all of the band's previously announced shows have been canceled and all of the group's "plans are on hold." The band says: "ALL focus is now on Ronnie's health and undergoing treatment."
Formed in early 1982 by Atkins and guitarist Ken Hammer, PRETTY MAIDS quickly established itself as a band to be taken seriously. In April 1987, "Future World", the band's third album recorded in the USA, was released to great acclaim and is still today regarded as a "classic."
After the release of the follow-up album "Jump The Gun" (produced by DEEP PURPLE's Roger Glover), PRETTY MAIDS in 1991 were on the verge of a breakup. However, Hammer and Atkins found a new rhythm section and in 1992 released the "Sin - Decade", a record that would reveal that PRETTY MAIDS was still a force to be reckoned with, despite the fact that the metal scene now was overrun by the grunge movement. "Sin - Decade" became a huge success in Japan and gave the band a big radio hit with the single "Please Don't Leave Me", laying the foundation for the band in the East that would last for the next decade.
During the ensuing years, PRETTY MAIDS continued to release albums usually followed by European and Japanese tours.
In a 2013 interview with Myglobalmind, Atkins joked that the secret to keeping his voice in shape was "twenty cigarettes a day and little drink now and then."

Fumer, c'est mal (20 clopes par jour, bordos, tu parles d'un "secret" pour bien chanter...).
C'est triste. J'espère qu'il va s'en sortir, bien sûr, avec le moins de séquelles possibles. Et qu'il pourra rechanter un jour avec Pretty Maids. Croisons les doigts.

Ouais, bah il est mal quoi.
Pour ce qui est de l'impact du tabac sur le chant, ça dépend aussi beaucoup du style du chanteur. Atkins il faisait pas dans les ultras aigues, il a toujours eu ce timbre rauque, dans ça va bien avec le tabac.

Faudra que j'écoute ça, à l'occasion, j'aime bien la voix d'Atkins sur les derniers Avantasia mais n'ai jamais écouté d'album du groupe, juste "Future World" (le morceau).
Sinon, il a publié cette semaine qu'a priori, il s'était débarrassé du cancer.

As for everyone who’s encountered cancer, I’m fully aware that it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m “homesafe” and the next 5 years are so to speak crucial, but nevertheless it’s a big step in the right direction and a great relief for me and my family.
To avoid or lower the chances of reoccurrences the doctors have reccomended me to undergo immunotherapy for the next year, which I’ve naturally agreed to and allready started up.
Now it’s time to recuperate, regain some strength and knock myself back into shape, witch I’m eager to do.
There will/might be some
sequelae that I have to deal with, but so be it. That’s life
With the risk of being accused of repeating myself I once again wanna express my sincere thanx to all of you out there ( my army of beautiful souls) who’s been supporting me through out this with sweet greetings, messages, advice and prayers.
It’s been heart warming and I’m forever grateful
