GAMMA RAY - Nouveau chanteur !

Ils admettent enfin que Kai Hansen n'y arrive plus. C'est surprenant quand même.

NEWS FROM THE GAMMARAY CAMP:

The band has decided to further on work with two singers for several good reasons.

So from now on the vocals there will be Mr. Kai Hansen as usual plus and welcome please Mr. Frank Beck with whom the band has done already a good amount of shows in the past. We found out that Frank is not only a great singer that very much fits into the band from his voice and from his temper of the voice and his kind of singing but as well as a very very good human being that is fit to live up to the extreme expectations that we as a band have for people joining.

Mainly this guy cannot only sing, he can party, too and that’s very important. So that was reason one.

Another good reason was that Kai just felt that it’s time for him to cut a bit shorter on singing because he found out that his long touring especially headline shows after a while always tends to fuck up the voice and end up with something that is not a hundred percent. So sharing the vocals makes things much easier and much more pleasurable.

It will not only give the band a new dimension soundwise or vocalwise but it will as well – and here is reason number three – give Kai the freedom to move around on stage a lot and plus create a bit more action on the live performances and be more free to play the guitar which actually he does like a lot.

So ladies and gentleman please welcome the new GammaRay and please welcome Mr. Frank Beck.

A part ça les tensions sont retombées entre eux et Ralf Scheepers, il les a rejoint sur scène:

Mais il y a pas eu de tensions entre Hansen et Scheepers. On est pas chez Helloween.

Un autre chanteur pour se taper le plus gros du boulot, c'est une sage décision pour la scène, mais sur album, ça risque de faire bizarre. Et malheureusement, c'est pas ça qui va relever le niveau des morceaux.

Un peu quand même, mais rien de dramatique :

In a 2009 interview with Hard Rock Hideout, Scheepers stated about his departure from GAMMA RAY: "We were together for five years. I was living still in Stuttgart, also now. GAMMA RAY is coming from Hamburg, the other members. The technology wasn't where you could swap MP3 files and load your dat files into your sessions and compose your songs that way. That is the way we are doing it now between Sweden and Hannover. Back then, it wasn't possible, the technology wasn't there. The guys wanted me to move to Hamburg. I couldn't do that. I needed to work to pay for my way of life. Music wasn't paying for it. That was one of the reasons we parted ways. The other reason is well known. I made the application to JUDAS PRIEST. I told the guys that I did it. They asked me what I would do if JUDAS PRIEST asked me to be the singer. I said I would go, without disrespect and everything. They understood, but in the end there was another factor. The feeling was not that good anymore. Before I made my application, Kai [Hansen, guitar/vocals] and Dirk [Schlächter, guitar] started singing their own songs, which is their own right, of course. In the end, it was a sign that they may not need a vocalist anymore. Everything came together within one month and we went our separate ways. [There were some] bad vibes for a couple of months. We are still friends. I don't want to talk shit about GAMMA RAY, and they don't talk shit about me. It was a good time, it was a learning phase. I really appreciate the time. I don't want to talk bad about it. It was only good."

Et pour le niveau des morceaux tu as malheureusement bien raison...

Ah ça oui, mais le public n'en a rien su. Ils se sont pas envoyés des fions par presse interposée pendant des mois comme d'autres. Et ils ont collaboré plusieurs fois dans les années qui ont suivi (Primal Fear, l'album solo de Ralfie et d'autres).

C'est bien pour les concerts mais il aurait fallu laisser le micro sur album aussi...

Comme beaucoup de groupes, leur concert en streaming va sortir en CD/DVD.

Acheter ce dvd relève vraiment de l'acte militant, car quand je vois cet extrait, quelle tristesse... Aucune ambiance, le chanteur semble paumé, il se promène nulle part.

Oui le morceau avec Scheepers est mieux chanté, lui au moins il assure.

La différence est flagrante, Scheepers est un vrai pro lui, qui sait adapter sa voix malgré son vieillissement. Frank Beck est un vieux pote du groupe, peut-être qu'Hansen a voulu lui faire plaisir, mais difficile de comprendre l'intérêt d'un demi remplacement (car Hansen chante encore beaucoup) par un gars qui n'a clairement pas le niveau.

Non franchement il chante bien, c'est juste que c'est pas en place quoi. Mais bon il est arrivé la même chose sur la tournée reformation d'Helloween à plusieurs moments.
