LIFE'S SHADOW LYRICS : "Mark my words my soul lives on Please don’t worry cause I’ve gone I’ve gone beyond to see the truth When your time is close at hand Maybe then you’ll understand Life down there is just a strange illusion."
HALLOWED BE THY NAME LYRICS : "Mark my words believe my soul lives on. Don't worry now that I have gone. I've gone beyond to see the truth. When you know that your time is close at hand, Maybe then you'll begin to understand Life down here is just a strange illusion."

Re: IRON MAIDEN - The Book Of Souls (4 septembre)
IRON MAIDEN has settled a lawsuit over the writing credits for the band's classic song "Hallowed Be Thy Name".
A year ago, retired rock band manager Barry McKay took MAIDEN's Steve Harris and Dave Murray to court over the 1982 track, claiming reproduced major parts of another song, "Life's Shadow", co-written nearly a decade earlier by musician Brian Quinn, under the name Brian Ingham.
"Life's Shadow" was a collaboration between Quinn and Robert Barton, who later recorded the song for the self-titled 1974 album from his band BECKETT. At the time, BECKETT was managed by Rod Smallwood, who went on to become the manager of IRON MAIDEN.
In court documents, Harris's lawyers admitted he saw BECKETT perform in 1973 and said that BECKETT's debut was one of his favorite albums when it was first released.
Although McKay has said that Harris and Murray have been ordered to pay £900,000 (approximately $1.25 million) in costs and damages, a spokesperson for IRON MAIDEN told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the actual figure was much lower.
"We do not believe that Brian Quinn was the one who wrote these six lines in question over 40 years ago as was claimed by Barry McKay," the MAIDEN spokesperson said. "However, due to escalating legal fees and the potential huge costs of a court case, it was pragmatic to reluctantly settle this action with McKay for £100,000 [approximately $139,000], a fraction of what he brought the action for. A serial litigant like Mr. McKay would have foreseen this."
In response to MAIDEN's statement, McKay said: "To call me a 'serial litigant' is sour grapes. Harris and Murray and their managers appear to me to be bad losers. However, I am now also representing three other songwriters who also allege that Steve Harris and Dave Murray have profiteered from lyrics that they wrote. If that makes me a 'serial litigant,' so be it. Musicians who have their intellectual property exploited by others who did not write or compose it are entitled to professional assistance."
MAIDEN last year dropped "Hallowed Be Thy Name" from its setlist after the band became embroiled in the legal dispute. The settlement means that the group can now resume performing the song during its live shows.
MAIDEN's representatives at Phantom Management issued a statement last year in which they acknowledged that "Steve Harris was a fan of BECKETT and some six lines from 'Life's Shadow' were referenced in Steve's song 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'." However, they insisted at the time that as far as Steve was concerned, "this matter was settled some years ago by agreement with Robert Barton."

Re: IRON MAIDEN - The Book Of Souls (4 septembre)

"Scream For Me Sarajevo", a documentary telling the story of a 1994 concert given by IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson while the Bosnian War was raging and Sarajevo itself was under siege, will be released on June 29 on DVD, Blu-ray and digital via Eagle Vision. In addition, the music from the film is being released on CD/double LP via BMG.
Comprising music from the film which spans Bruce Dickinson's solo career, the album features the rarities "Acoustic Song" (previously only available as a bonus track on the 2001 "Best Of Special Edition"), "Inertia (Live)" (previously only available as a bonus track on the expanded re-release of "Skunkworks" in 2005) and the album closer "Eternal" (previously only available as Japanese bonus tracks on "Tyranny Of Souls").
"Scream For Me Sarajevo" album track listing:
01. Change Of Heart
02. Tears Of The Dragon
03. Gods Of War
04. Darkside Of Aquarius
05. Navigate The Seas Of The Sun
06. Road To Hell
07. Arc Of Space
08. Omega
09. River Of No Return
10. Power Of The Sun
11. Strange Death In Paradise
12. Inertia (Live)
13. Acoustic Song
14. Eternal
"Scream For Me Sarajevo", the film and album, is now available to pre-order exclusively via PledgeMusic at www.screamformesarajevo.com.
"Scream For Me Sarajevo" will be released beginning May 10 in select theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
The first time Dickinson was in Sarajevo, the city was cut off from the world, its citizens brutally terrorized by shooting, bombing and starvation with electricity and water supply being nothing short of a luxury. Bruce and his then-solo band drove through the frontlines and ultimately played a show for the people trapped in the city. What this gig meant to the people and how it changed Bruce and his band is told in "Scream For Me Sarajevo".
Featuring footage from the historic gig, the film also meets those that made it to the show and made the show happen; determined to keep living their lives despite the atrocities going on around them. Interviews with the band, crew and security bring home the reality of the situation that was not only dangerous, it was barbaric.
"We weren't protected, there was no plan and the bullets were real, but fuck it, we went anyway," said Bruce in his autobiography "What Does This Button Do?" "The gig was immense, intense and probably the biggest show in the world at that moment for the audience and for us. That the world didn't really know didn't matter. It changed the way I viewed life, death and other human beings."
In addition to the feature film, a specially recorded interview with Dickinson will be included as exclusive theatrical-only content in participating theaters.
In a December 2015 interview with the Radio Sarajevo show "The Aebyss", Bruce spoke about the security concerns he has in an age of terrorism when it comes to deciding which countries to travel to in order to play for the people there. He said: "Personally, yeah, I'll play no matter what. Your concern has to be, actually, for people who don't have a choice in the matter. I mean, it was my choice [in 1994] — actually our choice, collectively, 'cause we all, collectively, said, 'Yeah, we're all crazy enough to try and do this thing and drive into Sarajevo in the middle of a war and see if we can do and do a gig. And [laughs] we're not quite sure when we're gonna come back.' But those poor people that went for that [EAGLES OF DEATH METAL] concert at the Bataclan [in Paris, France] had no choice; they were completely, completely innocent in every possible way. And, of course, nobody knew that the place was gonna get targeted. So, unfortunately, there's a judgment call that people have gotta make, and you have to make it on the best information available — as to whether or not you're suddenly gonna get… If somebody says, 'We're gonna massacre everybody at a rock concert,' you say, 'Well, is it some lunatic, or is it genuinely credible that this might happen?'"
He continued: "You can't take the responsibility for what might be some lunacy, massacring people, just because you wanna be kind of 'macho man' and stand up and say, 'Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we did this and people threatened us, but we were like macho men.' And that's great until one day it turns out that somebody does go and do [something like that] and then you have lots and lots of dead women and children, and you go, 'Maybe we shouldn't have done the show, because there was a credible threat.' So, unfortunately, you've gotta be grown up about it. But, at the same time, you still need to be able to offer people that hope and send that message out there. They can't stop… Real life just carries on. I mean, when the Irish Republican Army, years and years ago… when I was a kid, things were getting blown up left, right and center in the U.K., and one lot was blowing things up and horrendous things happened, and nothing stopped — people just got on with it and carried on. You don't stop. You don't back down from living your life. And that was the message in Sarajevo — that in all the craziness, this little bastion of rock and roll and kind of normality happened, for five minutes, in the middle of it. You know, yeah, you know what? There is light at the end of the tunnel there. So all those kinds of things are acts of defiance, but not involving guns or bombs or bullets and things like that."

j'aime bien A matter of Life and death également (je trouve The reincarnation of benjamin Breeg magnifique et different world est un petit tube sympa)
Voila voila ^^

IRON MAIDEN Sued Over Songwriting Credit By Former Singer DENNIS WILLCOCK
IRON MAIDEN Sued Over Songwriting Credit By Former Singer DENNIS WILLCOCK
Willcock claims to have written the words to the tracks "Prowler", "Charlotte The Harlot", "Phantom Of The Opera", "Iron Maiden" and "Prodigal Son", which were recorded and released by MAIDEN on their first two albums, 1980's self-titled effort and 1981's "Killers".
According to the lawsuit, "Prowler" "was inspired by a friend of Mr. Willcock and was performed by Mr. Willcock wearing a rubber mask"; "Charlotte The Harlot" "was inspired by a colleague of Mr. Willcock"; and "Phantom Of The Opera" "was based on the novel by Gaston Le Roux". The lawsuit adds that IRON MAIDEN performed a song called "Iron Maiden" "at the time when Mr. Willcock joined the band. In substitution for the then-existing lyrics, Mr. Willcock wrote new lyrics to fit in with a theatrical stunt involving a sword and fake blood." Willcock also claims that he co-wrote — with IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris — the lyrics to a song called "Prodigal Son" "in or about 1978."
Also suing IRON MAIDEN is musician Terry Wilson-Slesser, who claims his lyrics for BECKETT's 1974 song "A Rainbow's Gold" were lifted by MAIDEN for 1982's "Hallowed Be Thy Name".
Willcock, who fronted MAIDEN from 1976 to 1978, was replaced in the band by Paul Di'Anno. He claims never knew his lyrics were used because he never listened to the band's albums.
The lawsuit, which names as defendants IRON MAIDEN members Steve Harris and Dave Murray, along with their publishing company Imagem, seeks damages in excess of £2 million (approximately $2.64 million).
Willcock was MAIDEN's second singer. The band's original vocalist, Paul Day, co-founded the group in 1976 along with Harris.
An IRON MAIDEN spokesperson told The Sun: "This is outrageous. Absolutely ridiculous."

Ridicule.
Paul Day ? Thunderstick (avec l'histoire Thunderburst/The Ides of March ?), Dennis Stratton ? Blaze Bayley ?

IRON MAIDEN Responds To Lawsuit Filed By Former Singer DENNIS WILLCOCK

Willcock claims to have written the words to the tracks "Prowler", "Charlotte The Harlot", "Phantom Of The Opera", "Iron Maiden" and "Prodigal Son", which were recorded and released by MAIDEN on their first two albums, 1980's self-titled effort and 1981's "Killers".
In a formal written response to Willcock's legal action, IRON MAIDEN claims bassist Steve Harris, not Willcock, actually penned the lyrics in question. In addition, the band admits the songwriting credit on "Charlotte The Harlot" is wrong.
Since it first appeared on MAIDEN's debut LP, the track has been solely credited to guitarist Dave Murray. But in the documents served to the High Court, Harris and publisher Imagem state: "The lyrics for [the song] were written by Mr Harris in or around 1977 to accompany music written by Mr Murray, who had joined IRON MAIDEN in late 1976."
IRON MAIDEN has admitted that Willcock changed three words of "Prowler" and two of "Charlotte The Harlot" but has questioned whether he can remember writing them.
The band states: "[He] was, when he was a member of IRON MAIDEN, notorious for forgetting lyrics for the band's songs, or missing out words, or singing the wrong words. He… even had to sing from lyric sheets at live performances. Accordingly it is implausible that Mr Willcock can now remember lyrics he allegedly wrote some 40 years ago."

Bob Sawyer ?).

On a retrouvé Dennis Stratton !
NWOBHM supergroup LIONHEART has released a new single in time for Christmas called "Mary Did You Know". With it, the band is hoping to bring some much-needed classic rock to the No. 1 spot of this British institution.
"We've had years of the same old formula pop songs at No. 1 and we thought it was about time to bring something fresh with a bit more power and punch," said Dennis Stratton, LIONHEART guitarist and one-time member of IRON MAIDEN. "At the same time, we have one eye on the traditional meaning of Christmas, and so have left out the sleigh bells and ho-ho-ho's in favor of something a bit more thoughtful. With the world in such turmoil at the moment, we wanted to bring a positive message across."
"Mary Did You Know" is accompanied by the official video and the band has a PR team working hard on securing radio spots. "Plays on the airwaves still count for so much when trying to make a song successful," continued Stratton, "so we decided to get a dedicated team on to this. Of course, we'd love the No. 1 spot over Christmas, but we'll be happy to have it anywhere up there in the official charts."
LIONHEART was formed in 1980 by Stratton along with guitarist and keyboardist Steve Mann and bassist Rocky Newton, both of whom were later to play with MSG. Mann is also playing in the current lineup of MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST. The LIONHEART lineup is completed by original drummer Clive Edwards (ex-UFO) and undoubtedly one of the best singers in the U.K. at the moment, Lee Small (ex-SHY). During the 1980s, they toured constantly, selling out the infamous Marquee club in London on repeated occasions, and completing tours with WHITESNAKE and DEF LEPPARD. They also played at the legendary Reading Festival in 1981.
In 2017, LIONHEART released its first studio album since the classic "Hot Tonight" record from 1984. Titled "Second Nature", it was hailed by the critics as a triumphant return for the band, and LIONHEART has now headed back into the studio to record a follow-up album. "We have about 10 songs on the go at the moment," added Stratton, "and they are just sounding fantastic. We can't wait to bring this out." Due for release in the spring of 2019, it's already been given the title "Reality Of Miracles".
