SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY Members To Release Second THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA Album



THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA — the classic-rock band featuring Björn Strid (SOILWORK) and Sharlee D' Angelo (ARCH ENEMY, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS) — will release its second album this spring. According to Rocknytt.net, songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Lady Jade", "Stiletto" and "Spanish Ghosts".

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA has also announced the addition of Sebastian Forslund (KADAWATHA) on congas, percussion and guitar.

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA started like so many others as an innocent yet serious drunken idea when Strid and David Andersson (MEAN STREAK, session musician for SOILWORK) were on the road together somewhere in North America in 2007. Björn and David were bonding over what they considered "classic" or not, from rock and roll conspiracies to being arrested in a lobby with nothing but leather pants on. All those scenarios, fictional or real, needed a soundtrack. They also came to think that whether you're on a metal tour or not, a lot of classic rock songs say it all and can really lend you a helping hand and make you forget about everything, especially when in motion or travelling. The classic escape. The never-ending road trip. The transatlantic night flight. It may sound simple and naive, but what it all comes down to is that we all need that soundtrack to feel extra special, whether you have been arrested in a lobby or not.

It didn't take long before bass player D' Angelo joined forces as well as keyboard player Richard Larsson (VON BENZO) and drummer Jonas Källsbäck (MEAN STREAK). The goal was to reclaim the '70s/early '80s sense for classic melody, the forgotten recipe to a timeless song, preferably a song mentioning a city, street name or an exhilarating alcoholic beverage. Anything that will have you spitting out the word "classic." From "Tarot Woman" to "Badlands", from "Rhiannon" to "Running on Empty", from "Blind Man" to "Night Moves", from "Deuce" to "Separate Ways", from "Elected" to "Set me Free". The list goes on. It's all about reclaiming the "classic."

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA made its live debut in August, 2013 at Dina-scenen in Lidköping, Sweden.

Il jouait déjà sur le 1er et je crois qu'il a participé à la production, donc c'est pas vraiment un p"tit nouveau.

Me tarde aussi. J'ai adoré le 1er.

Le premier était très sympathique

Plus que sympathique, c'était une grosse réussite à tous les niveaux !

Mais il est très bon, cet extrait ! Les mecs ont reconduit la même formule et font des zigouigouis discoïdes avec le synthé : ça me plaît.
En espérant que cela augure de la suite.

Oui, ça part vraiment sur de bons rails, cette histoire.

Sur le site de Nuclear Blast, l'album est annoncé le 12 juin (2015).

Hum, y 'a quelques pains, on sent que c'est en rodage. Mais ça reste fun !
En revanche, il aurait pas un peu forci, D'Angelo ?

dites donc, ils vendent pas un peu du rêve ceux la ?

J'ai écouté quelques morceaux cette nuit sur YouTube, et j'ai trouvé ça vraiment sympa !

C'est pas comme les groupes de Néo-Classic-Rock que l'on écoute d'habitude, ils ont un petit coté année 80 ringardos assez sympa je dois dire.

Carrément ! Ce groupe est ENORME, mff et moi on se tue à le dire !

Et le nouvel album n'a même pas à rougir à côté du premier.

Et même si je trouve encore le 1er album un poil supérieur, ce second tient carrément la route, notamment grâce aux lignes de basse qui sont énormes!

Et aux claviers kitchs 80's totalement assumés qui apportent beaucoup de fraicheur et de fun, sans sonner comme une parodie.

J'écoute l'album en entier et j'ai l'étrange et agréable sensation de me retrouver dans GTA Vice-City

C'est vraiment bonnard en tout cas et je pense qu'il ne va pas tarder à rejoindre le poste de ma voiture .

Et les musicos sont excellent !

Mais complétement d'accord. C'est kitch à fond, assumé. Mais ça ne sonne pas ringard! Et quel chanteur!

Attisé par la hype, j'ai écouté le premier album dont j'avais loupé le coche à l'époque. Sympa, bien joué, frais, Speed assure bien (même si j'imaginais qu'il adopterait un chant encore plus différent, on dirait juste la voix gentille de Soilwork pendant une heure), c'est cool !
Du coup je vais me réserver la surprise pour ce deuxième, et n'écouter aucun extrait pour que la découverte soit totale !
