NIGHTRAGE - Wolf To Man (29 mars 2019)

Encore un futur topic à flop mais j'aime beaucoup ce groupe, surtout depuis qu'ils sont revenus à du bon vieux mélodeath à la suédoise depuis quelques albums.
Le 1er extrait s'annonce bien.



Greek/Swedish extreme metal stalwarts NIGHTRAGE have released a new single, "By Darkness Drawn". The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Wolf To Man", which will arrive on March 29, 2019 via Despotz Records.

Says the band: "With 'By Darkness Drawn', we wanted to combine our trademark NIGHTRAGE guitar melodies with a straightforward thrash metal drive clashing straight into groovy-yet-hooking chorus. A straightforward NIGHTRAGE song, so to say. And that is what we think 'By Darkness Drawn' is! A kick-ass thrasher!

"The lyrics for this song pretty much sum up the concept and theme of the album and it handles the fact we are all doomed and we know it. Unable to learn from our mistakes, we are all now standing at the edge of our abyss, paralyzed by fear of our inevitable leap towards our own extinction.

"The lyrics on the previous album was all about our journey towards our end. This song is about being there right now, and just having to accept that as a fact."

NIGHTRAGE's latest, seventh album, "The Venomous", was released in March 2017 via Despotz Records.

J'y jetterai forcément une oreille à la sortie, mais je doute que ce soit vraiment terrible
Le chant core, les riffs passe-partout, le refrain metalcore, ça me botte moyen!

Y a un petit côté death mélo old school dans les mélodies de guitare qui me plait bien, ça me rappelle un peu un groupe aujourd'hui disparu... je crois que ça s'appelait In Flames ou un truc comme ça.

Mouais, de moins en moins quand même! En tout cas le dernier extrait est bof bof...

Je me rends compte que je ne suis pas vraiment à jour de la discographie du groupe. Ils valent quoi les derniers albums, Pietro?

J'avais plutôt bien aimé les deux albums avec Antony Hämäläinen au chant, Wearing a Martyr's Crown et Insidious. Pas étonnant, le mec sonne très Tompa. A l'époque il y avait Olof Mörck le leader d'Amaranthe à la guitare lead !

J'aime moins le chant core de Ronnie Nyman et je suis donc un peu passé à côté de The Puritan, mais j'ai été surpris en bien par The Venomous qui sonnait plus old school que jamais musicalement. Du coup j'attends le nouveau avec curiosité.
