LUNATICA - ??? (2019???)

This is a personal message from the band Lunatica:

Dear fans
First of all we would like to thank you for the great support over all the years. It is a gift for us to have such fans and that after all these years you have not forgotten us. A lot has happened since our last album "New Shores". We had very nice concerts and the album was successful. But after that we had suffered some setbacks and a personal blow of fate.

Nevertheless, we haven't lost our love for music. And yes, Lunatica exists.

New songs are written and pre-produced. The songs sound more symphonic and bigger than on the last album and we are very lucky that we have found Peter Crowley to work with for the orchestra parts. Peter does a great job and it's great fun to listen to the pre-produced songs. We also arranged the song "The Edge Of Infinity" with new orchestral parts. We don't want to keep the result from you and hope that you like the 2018 version.

A production like Lunatica imagines, which we want to deliver to the fans, takes a lot of time and costs money. Music is a hobby of ours. We are not professional musicians, we have family and all have a regular job that we have to do :-) That leaves us the time after work and weekends to pursue our hobby music. The music business has also undergone a change. That's why we decided to finance the album ourselves. The biggest reason is surely that we are free in our creativity and don't have to make any compromises concerning the album. But this decision means that the album production has to be done in stages.

Is a new Lunatica album coming? The answer is yes.
And when is it coming?: We don't know yet. The honest and current state is that we finished 7 songs as pre-production and 3 - 4 more will follow. Then it's off to the studio. We estimate that we will have the first test mix of a song in our hands in autumn and decide how we want to continue.

We would like to thank everyone for the support and apologize for the long waiting time.

Lunatica était un des groupes les plus sous côtés du metal sympho, pourtant ils voient le jour dès 2002 avec Atlantis, qui pose des bases corrects, à savoir du talent et de la poésie.

le gros coup c'est l'album Fables&dreams en 2004, pile quand j'ai commencé à découvrir le metal sympho, et suite à des avis très bons, j'ai commandé l'album et je le dis sans sourciller, il est clairement dans le top 10 ever des albums de metal sympho
extraits (un peu cheap mais bon c'est de 2004)



Suite au succès critique, le groupe tombe dans le piège du mainstream avec l'album The Edge of Infinity, mais qui garde toujours cette douceur et poésie, gràce aux deux titres suivants, qui sont surement mes deux préférés du groupe, mais le reste est plutôt moyen

Puis, avec toujours son petit succès, le groupe signe chez Napalm, qui leur font faire un album dégueu, qui ne marchera pas et qui ne sortiront jamais de second album avec le label (on en parle des gros labels qui tuent des bons groupes)
l'album est tout de même mignon pour les amateurs et le titre suivant est quand même passable, mais c'est clairement moins bien que les trois précédents.



Presque 10 ans après ce gentil groupe suisse revient donc, et en auto prod, et si c'est aussi efficace que le retour de Bare Infinity, j'ai hâte!

Album update:

Dear Lunatica Fans

This is an update of our album production. We work on the new songs every free minute and we are very happy with the result. The pre-production is going well and it's great fun to write, produce and watch the songs grow.

What does pre-production actually mean? This is a question we often receive and we would like to explain to you in short sentences how we proceed with a song. Of course the idea of the song stands above everything else. This can be a guitar riff, a verse or a chorus we start with. Afterwards we collect ideas that always come spontaneously. After collecting the ideas we record or program the individual tracks in a sequencer (drums, guitars, bass and all keyboards). Thus a rough basic structure of a song exists, which gives the direction. Since the best ideas never come when they should, we load the pre-produced songs onto the mobile phone so that we can listen to them everywhere.

So when we listen to the songs we always work on new ideas to improve or change the song. This usually happens when we can't work on the songs at all, e.g. When we're on the road. We implement the new ideas in the pre-production, which is always growing. When the song is finished, there is a very important part: the vocal line and the lyrics. The vocal line is the main part in a song and when it's there the song is at least ready so we can go into the studio and record it again. So a pre-production is just a framework that we work with.

As mentioned above, we have a lot of fun with our new songs. Since you have been waiting for new Lunatica material for a long time, we have a surprise for you. For the first time in the history of Lunatica we decided to share a song with you in the pre-production stage.

The working title of the song is "Luna Song" and the preproduction of this song is finished. We will provide the "Luna Song" without vocals for you, because we will record the vocals in a few weeks. But we are sure that with this goodie you can "feel" the direction of the new Lunatica songs.

Please note: this is only the pre-production - so a framework (that means, not final recorded, not mixed, not mastered etc.)! The song is still in progress!

We wish you a lot of fun listening to the song and hope that you like it as much as we do. We'll upload the song at about 15:00 (MEZ).
