WILDERUN – Veil of Imagination (2019)

Boston-based WILDERUN‘s third epic progressive metal masterpiece, entitled Veil of Imagination, will see its official release tomorrow, November 1.

With elements of progressive metal, folk and orchestral music providing a dynamic backdrop, Veil of Imagination takes listeners through vivid, emotional landscapes, while the lyrics weave tales that are simultaneously fantastical and personal. Veil of Imagination is a stunningly epic, emotional and whimsical odyssey through landscapes of earth and mind.

Formed in 2012, WILDERUN has previously released two albums, 2012’s Olden Tales & Deathly Trails and 2015’s Sleep at the Edge of the Earth. With this slightly different approach to creating music, Veil of Imagination transforms and expands upon WILDERUN‘s already indefinable style, resulting in an album that is at once beautiful and fierce. Clean vocals transform into deathly growls as the band alternates between exquisitely-composed orchestrations and savage metal, all executed with technical prowess.

Mon avis: Wilderun est sans doute le meilleur groupe de metal progressif dont vous n'ayiez jamais entendu parler. Veil of Imagination est un mélange entre death-metal mélodique, metal progressif et metal symphonique hyper-bien maîtrisé.

J'ai pas du tout accroché aux quelques morceaux que j'ai pu écouter!

J'ai écouté, on dirait Opeth quand il y avait encore des growls. C'est pas mal mais ça tire trop sur le prog à tiroirs pour moi.

J'ai enfin pris le temps d'écouter cet album... Les morceaux individuellement sont faiblards, mais rassemblés dans cet album, putain c'est une belle réussite! On se croirait dans une BO de film, c'est hallucinant
