Tommy Aldridge is back again

C’eût été tellement cool une reformation du Mark III le temps de quelques dates quand Jon était encore de ce monde. Dommage que Hughes ne participe pas à ce disque, parce que le duo marche tellement bien, notamment sur « Sail Away » que j'adore.

La tracklist délivre des poutres par camions entier, mais j'ai quand même peur que l'album soit très moyen, joué par le Whitesnake actuel...

... Et chanté par le Coverdale d'aujourd'hui, surtout.

Nase cette version de Stormbringer avec la voix toute trafiquée et l'absence d'orgue hammond

J'aimerais vous contredire mais... je suis d'accord avec vous tous.


...même si la version live du medley Burn/Stormbringer par le Whitesnake récent (enfin, y a plus Aldrich et Mendoza de ce line up) explose tout :

Pour le coup j'aime bien. Je craignais que les parties chantées par Hughes soient foirées mais en fait non, ça passe très bien. J'aime comment ils ont rallongés le solo de guitare pour le rendre encore plus Heavy Metal...non vraiment j'aime bien.

Ils ont dû se dire que pour jouer du Deep Purple il leur fallait un claviériste à temps complet.


WHITESNAKE has announced the addition of keyboardist/singer Michele Luppi to the group's ranks.

In 2011, Michele became the singer of SECRET SPHERE and released the album "Portrait Of A Dying Heart" the following year. A European tour followed to support the CD, including a show at the 2013 installment of the Wacken Open Air festival. After a successful tour in Japan, SECRET SPHERE released a re-recorded version of the band's 2001 album, "A Time Never Come", featuring the group's current lineup.

Michele is currently working on his solo album and is constantly touring with MLB (MICHELE LUPPI BAND), playing bass and singing all songs from all his previous albums/projects along with some AOR/hard rock classics.

Non c'est une nouvelle tournée qui commence cet été. Mais le nom "Greatest Hits Tour" ne laisse pas trop de doutes sur ce qu'ils vont jouer...
Tant mieux, je les ai encore jamais vu.

Ben finalement j'y serai pas...

Je vends une place pour le concert de Whitesnake à l'Olympia mardi 19 juillet, avec The Answer en 1ère partie (je peux pas y aller à cause du prix des billets d'avion...  ).

C'est une place debout à 67,50 €, je la vends au prix d'achat.

Après la réédition pour le 20eme anniversaire en 2007, l'album 1987 re-ressort à l'occasion de son trentième anniversaire en 2017...

Et le pire c'est que dans les bonus y a des trucs intéressants (du live tiré de la tournée 87/88 donc avec Vivian Campbell), je risque de craquer à nouveau.

Mais surtout un nouvel album est prévu pour l'année prochaine !

Un live de la tournée Purple sort en janvier. Et le groupe a confirmé un nouvel album pour l'année prochaine, qui devrait s'appeler Flesh & Blood.



"The Purple Tour (Live)" will be available on January 19 as CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray sets. Additional formats include a double-LP, single CD, and digital version. A video trailer can be found below.

On "The Purple Tour (Live)", WHITESNAKE puts its distinctive spin on several songs from Coverdale's studio albums with DEEP PURPLE: "Burn" (1974), "Stormbringer" (1974) and "Come Taste The Band" (1975). Highlights include "You Fool No One", "The Gypsy" and "Soldier Of Fortune". The double-disc collection also includes video footage of the concert mixed to 5.1 Surround Sound, plus a new music video for "Burn", band interviews, and a number of bonus performances not available on the CD or vinyl versions.

The WHITESNAKE lineup that appears on "The Purple Tour (Live)" includes Coverdale, guitarists Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra, bassist Michael Devin, drummer Tommy Aldridge and keyboardist Michele Luppi.

Coverdale says there was never any intention to compete against the original recordings. "We just wanted to play the damn songs," he says. "Each member of the band brought their incredible individual talents and a real band identity to this music. We've all done the best we can with this project with respect to the music, and the legacy of DEEP PURPLE Mk3 and Mk4."

In addition to songs originally recorded by DEEP PURPLE, "The Purple Tour (Live)" features performances of killer WHITESNAKE tracks like "Fool For Your Loving" from "Slip Of The Tongue" (1990), "Love Ain't No Stranger" from "Slide It In" (1984), plus "Still Of The Night", "Bad Boys", "Is This Love" and the #1 smash "Here I Go Again" from "Whitesnake" (1987).

Ouais mais pourquoi faire un truc qui rappelle autant deep purple ?
J'adore Coverdale. Mais je n'ai jamais compris comment il a pu faire carrière sans se trouver un personnalité.
Il a commencé en voulant absolument être un clone de Plant et n'a jamais su ensuite réellement se détacher de Deep Purple.
Alors qu'il a un talent monstrueux.
C'est l'industrie musicale qui le pousse à faire ça ?

C'est peut-être du Deep Purple, mais ça reste un peu "ses" morceaux, surtout que c'est pas Deep Purple qui va les jouer en concert, ces titres.
Enfin moi ça me dérange pas trop qu'ils continue de jouer des titres de DP de quand il y était.
