Following up 2015’s acclaimed “Hidden Evolution”, which entered the charts in Spain on # 2, this sixth studio album showcases the wide Heavy Metal range of ANGELUS APATRIDA, from neck-breaking Thrash, to truly melodic and yet powerful Metal, acting as the group’s most diverse effort to date.

In regards to “Sharpen The Guillotine”, ANGELUS APATRIDA checked in with the following comment:

“The song resumes the actual political situation of Spain, while I am writing this, a rapper singer is going to spend 3 years and 6 months in jail because of their lyrics. Spain is a dangerous place now. Freedom of speech? Yes, only for the rich".

Il y aurait eu de quoi... Mais au final, dans la chro qui dort encore en base, perso je lui ai seulement collé un 7.5.
Au format EP, avec les 4-5 morceaux qui tuent, ça aurait mérité un 9/10.
Sauf qu'ils l'ont allongé en un full length. Et que ça n'est pas toujours la meilleure idée qui soit...

Ça reste vraiment du thrash sur l'ensemble de l'album ? J'ai l'impression qu'ils tirent de plus en plus vers le heavy.

L'influence Heavy est en effet bien forte, et ça y glisse plus d'une fois. Mais globalement, non non, pas de glissement stylistique, ça reste du Thrash

Je confirme, c'est bien bien thrash. Certains refrains sont chantés en voix claire, d'où l'impression plus heavy, sans doute. Et les solos restent toujours aussi mélodiques. Pour le reste, je rejoins Lapin, il manque encore LE truc qui ferait basculer le groupe en 1ère division. Chro(s) à venir (j'en profiterai pour causer du précédent).

Oh oui c'est bien du thrash.

Et j'aime beaucoup, je les range avec Havok ou Warbringer dans cette vague de purs groupes de thrash qui s'inspirent des grands des années 80 mais sans chercher à sonner old school à tout prix, comme si c'était un gimmick.

J'adore déjà l'opener "Sharpen The Guillotine", bien thrashisant avec des accents de Death Angel. Ça commence très bien ça !

Depuis 1 an , j'écoute aucune nouveauté .. j'ai découvert ce groupe de Thrash par hasard et ma foi , je suis content d'avoir croisé leur chemin .

On en parle depuis un moment sur le topic thrash (enfin, moi j'en parle) !
