BLACK SABBATH - The End

A new special limited-edition BLACK SABBATH CD, "The End", will be sold exclusively at shows on the legendary band's massive worldwide final tour, which kicks off next week.

Featuring original artwork by Shepard Fairey of the Obey Giant street art campaign, the CD is comprised of eight previously unreleased tracks: four songs are outtakes from BLACK SABBATH's worldwide No. 1, Grammy Award-winning album "13" and four live songs from the band's critically acclaimed "13" world tour.

The CD features Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (bass), along with Brad Wilk (drums) on tracks 1-4, Tommy Clufetos (drums) on tracks 5-8, and Adam Wakeman (keyboards) on tracks 5-8. Tracks 1-4 were recorded at Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California and produced by Rick Rubin, mixed by Andrew Scheps at Punkerpad West and recorded by Greg Fidelman. Tracks 5-8 were recorded and engineered by Greg Price and mastered by Robert Vosgien at Capitol Studios Mastering.

"The End" track listing:

01. Season Of The Dead
02. Cry All Night
03. Take Me Home
04. Isolated Man
05. God Is Dead? (Live Sydney, Australia 4/27/13)
06. Under The Sun (Live Auckland, New Zealand 4/20/13)
07. End Of The Beginning (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14)
08. Age Of Reason (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14)

Beyond the collaboration with Shepard Fairey, BLACK SABBATH will celebrate artists each night of the tour by commissioning exclusive posters for each market on "The End" tour.

BLACK SABBATH yesterday uploaded a short video clip of the band rehearsing in which it is revealed that Tommy Clufetos is sitting behind the drums. Clufetos, who played drums on SABBATH's 2013 reunion tour, is apparently back on board for its upcoming "The End" farewell run, which begins on January 20 in Omaha, Nebraska.

The full rehearsal clip will be released on Friday, January 15.

Clufetos did not play on the 2013 SABBATH reunion album, "13", a role that was filled by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE drummer Brad Wilk.

Osbourne told The Pulse Of Radio at the time that Clufetos was gong to play on the record until producer Rick Rubin stepped in. "Tommy was offered the gig until Rick Rubin came along," he said. "Rick Rubin didn't want Tommy, and nobody told… It was a bit of a communication breakdown. Tommy was on the side waiting, and it just didn't work out, you know. It works out in the end."

Wilk and Clufetos had to get involved after founding SABBATH drummer Bill Ward withdrew from the reunion after initially agreeing to participate in it.

Ward has continually said that he would not join the reunion without a "signable contract," while the band has suggested that he wasn't physically capable of either recording or doing a full tour. Ward has insisted that he was capable of playing a full concert with the group.

Clufetos, who also hits the skins for Ozzy's solo act, has played in the past for ROB ZOMBIE, ALICE COOPER and others.

Ils vont ressortir des vieilleries rarement jouées, dont Hand of Doom.

BLACK SABBATH last Friday (Janaury 15) posted the complete four-minute rehearsal video which the band previewed earlier in the week in advance of its upcoming "The End" farewell tour. According to The Pulse Of Radio, the clip showcases some of the deep cuts they'll be dusting off for the trek, some of which — like "Hand Of Doom" — have not been played since the early '70s.

Guitarist Tony Iommi says in the clip: "We've picked a few of the ones we haven't played in a long time, as well, to add to the 'Iron Man's and 'War Pigs', which you have to do, and we love to play."

Singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler said that they never get tired of playing SABBATH's biggest hits. Ozzy said: "'Paranoid' never gets old. 'Iron Man' never gets old. You would think after 40 years I would be saying, 'Oh, no, not 'Iron Man' again,' but every time I play it, I play it like it's the first time." Geezer added: "The response from the audience that we get always keeps 'em fresh anyway."

BLACK SABBATH kicked off the U.S. leg of its "The End" world tour Wednesday night (January 20) at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The band's setlist was as follows:

setlist:
01. Black Sabbath
02. Fairies Wear Boots
03. Tomorrow's Dream
04. Into The Void
05. Snowblind
06. War Pigs
07. Behind The Wall Of Sleep
08. N.I.B.
09. Hand Of Doom
10. Rat Salad
11. Iron Man
12. Children Of The Grave
13. Dirty Women
14. Paranoid

Bill Ward a écrit:I must respond once again to inaccurate statements made by Geezer. I never received an offer to play the final show of The End tour with Black Sabbath. When the tour was confirmed, my management reached out to the Black Sabbath management to inquire as to whether or not they would like to discuss my participation in the tour. We were told there was no interest. That is last conversation we had with them regarding the tour.

I will say that I wouldn’t want to play only one gig when I am completely capable of touring. I would not validate their untrue statements about my health by playing only one gig. Also, I wouldn’t want to show up for only some of our fans and not for all our fans when I could have played multiple shows.

-- Bill
:redcard:
C'est con de finir comme ça...

Finalement Geezer s'excuse:
Geezer Butler a écrit:It appears Bill Ward was never invited to do a last show - my mistake. Sorry @billwarddrums

Sabbath album could still happen

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has revealed to Australia's The Music that he hopes to reunite with the band's former frontman Tony Martin to record new music to be included with the upcoming reissues of SABBATH's "Headless Cross" (1990) and "Tyr" (1990) albums.

"We've held back on the reissues of those albums because of the current SABBATH thing with [current frontman Ozzy Osbourne], but they will certainly be happening," Iommi said.

"I'd like to do a couple of new tracks for those releases with Tony Martin," he added. "I'll also be looking at working on 'Cross Purposes' (1994) and 'Forbidden' (1995)."

Iommi and Martin reconnected in January when they attended the unveiling ceremony for a plaque honoring legendary drummer Cozy Powell (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, BLACK SABBATH, WHITESNAKE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) in Cirencester, England.

Martin took to his Facebook page after the event to write: "Well, what a great day. I attended the unveiling of Cozy Powell's memorial plaque in his hometown of Cirencester, along with Brian May, Neil Murray and Tony Iommi... And, to my surprise, [i] was greeted by Tony Iommi VERY warmly. It's the first conversation of any length I have had with him in 15 years! And it turns out we may well be working together soon!"

A new trailer for BLACK SABBATH's upcoming film, "The End Of The End", can be seen below.

"The End Of The End" chronicles the final tour from the band that spawned the metal genre — BLACK SABBATH. On February 4, 2017, SABBATH stormed the stage in their hometown of Birmingham, to play the 81st and final triumphant gig of "The End" tour. This monumental show brought down the curtain on a career that spanned almost half a century.

The sold-out performance marked the culmination of a global tour that saw the band play to over one and a half million fans. With their inception in 1968, BLACK SABBATH pioneered a sound that would form the basis of heavy metal, and to this day continues to influence bands the world over.

The film brings fans the up close and personal story of the final, emotionally charged concert, as the band perform hits, including "Iron Man", "Paranoid", "War Pigs" and many more. Join SABBATH in the studio, as they deliver unique and exclusive performances of some of their favorite songs not played on the tour, and catch an intimate glimpse into the band's world; the music, relationships and banter, alongside personal anecdotes.

The band said: "To bring it all back home after all these years was pretty special. It was so hard to say goodbye to the fans, who've been incredibly loyal to us through the years. We never dreamed in the early days that we'd be here 49 years later doing our last show on our home turf."

"The End Of The End" offers you the chance to witness for yourself BLACK SABBATH's incredible swansong. As Ozzy Osbourne says: "What a journey we've all had. It's fucking amazing." This is the final word from the greatest heavy metal band of all time.

Marc Allenby from Trafalgar Releasing said: "Trafalgar Releasing are excited to be expanding our music events with the legendary band, BLACK SABBATH, and their final ever historic show. We look forward to collaborating with Eagle Rock and BLACK SABBATH's management on 'The End Of The End'."

For one night only on September 28, over 1,500 cinemas worldwide will be showing a specially edited version of "Black Sabbath: The End Of The End".

The film will be distributed to cinemas worldwide by Trafalgar Releasing on September 28 and will include the incredible final gig as well as unprecedented behind the scenes access to the band, filmed by director Dick Carruthers ("Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day", "Imagine Dragons: Smoke + Mirrors Live"). "The End, Live In Birmingham" will be released in various formats later this year.

For details of cinemas taking part in this very special one-night-only event and ticket information, visit www.blacksabbathfilmtickets.com.
